Article Abstract:

Issues regarding the need for programs to reduce parole recidivism are discussed, as well as the need for a new parole model incorporating advances in technology, risk prediction, and effective rehabilitation. These reforms would be more effective than parole abolition, as they would decrease the risk to the public posed by parolees likely to reoffend and increase the chances they would succeed.
