Article Abstract:

The European Commission is continuing with the planned review of EU antitrust policy with regard to vertical restraints. The new approach features a block exemption subject to market share limits, which will place a heavier burden on lawyers. With regard to merger control, the merger task force has approved several joint ventures and acquisitions, including a joint venture between American Online, Bertelsmann, Cegetel and Canal.
