The learning connection

Article Abstract:

Travelers Corp installed a wireless infrared local area network (LAN) to reduce costs. The installation led to the creation of a work/study program at Manchester High School in Hartford, CT. The LAN was used to simulate an office environment for juniors and seniors participating in the employee benefits claims-processing training program. The students learned new job skills, while Travelers benefited from a pool of trained adjusters.
