"Profiling" - an effective hiring technique

Article Abstract:

Burnout, high turnover and low morale can be avoided if individuals are behaviorally matched to their job. Performance Advantage, a training and consulting firm, has shown the effectiveness of using profiling in matching an individual's behavior patterns to a job. Composed of two predictive sections, the questionnaire's first contains either/or choices which determine the motivation of an individual when placed in a job. The second part is concerned with an individual's working style. Applications and case studies of profiling technology prove its reliability in selecting and hiring employees.

Hiring from your competitors: lessons from the Volkswagen incident

Article Abstract:

Employers should also avoid discussing proprietary information on competitors when conducting interviews and turn down candidates that volunteer competitive information. Furthermore, companies should include noncompete and nondisclosure clauses in employment contracts and provide long-term benefits that terminate upon violation of the agreements.

Lessons from losses

Article Abstract:

Insurance employees should take note that information contained in title records will more likely be held as a prior claim over tax information in court. In a case where a man's father paid taxes to the state on a parcel of land for more than 40 years, the court ruled the man did not hold title to the land because there was no record of conveyance from the state. Insurance employees should not assume title from property taxes.
