Article Abstract:

The National Association of Life Companies (NALC) 1983 winter meeting discussed political action, management, new products and several other items. The members generally indicated they did not have officers designated as having responsibilities in government affairs. They were urged to do so. Insurance taxation was discussed. The legal aspects of mergers and the future of guaranty associations were other topics.

New Plans, New Policies

Article Abstract:

A compilation of insurance plans is presented. Eight life insurance companies are marketing new plans. The characteristics of various plans are described. Charts explain various benefits and rates. Each plan is explained individually. Among the various coverages discussed are universal life, retirement products, whole- life policies, and alternatives to group supplemental or payroll deduction whole life.

Professional Designations: How Much Room at the Top?

Article Abstract:

The Certified Financial Planner designation is a concern. Agent education has had to keep pace with industry changes. The American College has tried to maintain middle ground. The college intends to serve its traditional constituency. Matriculation minimums are outlined. Public reaction is questioned.
