ALTA concludes a successful 1995, gears up financially for 1996

The American Land Title Association (ALTA) expects a balanced budget for 1995, receipts of $2,874,650 against the same expenditures. Membership dues accounted for 67% of annual income. ALTA increased its membership in 1995 by 132 members for a total of 2,180. Technological changes are in the works for the association, including a computerized member database. Income also was derived from investments, conventions, directory and product services, and Title News. ALTA's largest expenditure was personnel at 38%, followed by legal and professional costs at 13%.

1992 dues increase

Article Abstract:

The American Land Title Assn (ALTA) has proposed an increase in dues for 1992. Reasons for the increase include the automation of the ALTA office, additional staff positions and maintaining the increased quality of ALTA's 'Title News' publication. Under the new dues schedule, the largest title insurance companies will pay more and some of the smaller companies will pay less.

Another successful year for ALTA

Article Abstract:

The American Land Title Assn finished 1992 in sound financial condition. Monetary controls succeeded, and cost effective operations continued so that $2,559,020 was spent of $2,610,000 in income. Membership fees contributed 79% of income, with 16% of income from conventions. Personnel costs took 34.5% of expenses, while conventions cost 15.5%.
