Article Abstract:
George Beram established his actuarial consulting firm, George Beram & Co, in Boston, MA, in 1975. In 1977, Beram entered into an agreement with Hooker & Holcombe, which provided him with additional financing and staff in exchange for business contacts in Boston. However, due to conflicts in management, Beram bought back his business in 1982. Since then the company has added new services and has increased its staff to 60. International work has likewise increased, necessitating its linking with US and European actuarial firms. It was Beram'a idea to establish the North American network of independent actuarial firms (NORACS), which is also linked to European actuarial firms.
