Article Abstract:
Results from a survey of 246 firms in Ireland were used in developing and testing a model that demonstrates the influence of human capital philosophy on the organization's performance and innovativeness promotions. It was found that enhanced human capital causes new products to be developed, and that innovativeness moderates the relationship between the organization's performance and human capital philosophy. The implications of the industry evironment and survival difficulty on a firm's strategy are also discussed.

As per a study on individualism/collectivism, showed that a sample of Indians were more individualistic than the American or Irish sample, who were the others to participate. No difference was seen on preferences for progressive HRM practices across the sample. Americans showed a higher preference for equality in rewards than the Irish sample and fairness in appraisals / rewards than the Indians.
