The imminent rise of non-core US international investing

Article Abstract:

Two US investment of pension fund trends that are emerging as a result of Europe, Australia and Far East (EAFE) investing are discussed. Emerging market investment works on the rationale that it is advisable to invest in a young, dynamic population rather than in ageing populations. A large percentage of the 20 emerging economies are derived from the liberalization of Communist countries. Ethical investment is giving to charity, achievement of women, minority advancement, military contracts and other cultural imperatives to an internation extent.

The emerging case for foreign bonds

Article Abstract:

UK bond investments have become obsolete since they are too short dated and inefficient. The macro-economic policy of the government has served to increase the reappraisal of risk with regard to the nature of fixed income returns. Analysts believe that the fixed-income part pensuion fund investments should incorporate some measure of foreign bonds since this would retain robustness regardless of the currency base.
