Employee empowerment has become a buzzword in human resources (HR) circles. HR professionals may take steps to educate their company of the advantages of adapting this strategy. Preparatory work should ascertain how the concept can be defined in terms of the the day-to-day operations of the company. A clearly expressed common objective should then be specified in terms acceptable to management and employees alike. A definitive results-oriented program could then be presented to persuade the company of the advantages of implementing participatory management.
