Issues concerning the relationship between corporate organizational characteristics and management decision to outsource human resource (HR) functions are examined, focusing on research involving data from HR professionals in 432 organizations. Topics include categories of HR functions and determinants for outsourcing, such as idiosyncratic HR practices, firm size, pay level, and difference in experiential knowledge behind in-house HR professionals and contracted HR professionals.
