Article Abstract:

As employers begin to recognize the importance of hiring qualified personnel, their recruiting techniques are becoming more innovative and sophisticated. Innovative methods include: employee referral programs; recruitment advertising (print advertising is the most common, but television and direct mail are quickly gaining popularity); college recruitment; employment agencies; employment center franchises located in shopping malls; video interviewing; computer databases of job applicants; job fairs; and hiring retirees as part-time or temporary workers. These and other recruiting techniques are discussed in some detail.

Article Abstract:

Effective recruiting advertisements are discussed, and case studies are taken from advertising campaigns designed to attract new employees. The advertising tactics include using: a logo or product that is associated with the company, humor, media planning, creative artwork and brochures. Various appeals and target marketing techniques used when recruiting are also discussed.

Article Abstract:

Sample ads are given for executive and worker recruiting drives. Also, different recruitment strategies, goals, and results are displayed. The ads used were taken because of their content, success under the criteria of the entrant and objectives, and ideas which may be applicable to additional situations.
