International adjustment of female vs male business expatriates

Article Abstract:

An exploratory study is conducted to compare the extent of international adjustment of female and male business expatriates. Controlling for differences between the two gender groups, there is no gender differences in terms of general adjustment, but there are indications that female expatriates has higher interaction and work adjustment than their male counterparts.

Adjustment of business expatriates in Greater China: a strategic perspective

Article Abstract:

The degree of sociocultural adjustment and the time taken to reach an acceptable performance level of business expatriates based in mainland China and Greater China, which comprises of Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan, are comparatively examined. The work adjustment is found to be better in Hong Kong and Singapore than in mainland China and Taiwan.

Expatriates' hesitation and the localization of western business operations in China

Article Abstract:

The executives of western companies are not in favour of the localization of the business and also are not adaptable to the Chinese business environment. A mail survey conducted among the western expatraite business leaders in China draws this conclusion.
