Human resource management in transitional economies: the case of Poland and the Czech Republic
Article Abstract:
Recent research has looked at human resource management (HRM) issues in the Czech Republic and Poland, which are currently moving towards free market economies. It was found that macro-environmental variables can greatly affect HRM policies and practices in both countries. However, type of ownership did not seem to have a large impact on HRM policies and practices. Polish companies give more attention than their counterparts in the Czech Republic to HR development activities.
