Employee benefit plans in Belgium: how generous are they?

Article Abstract:

About one-third of Belgium's population benefits from a company-sponsored pension plan, as it provides substantial benefits, for management employees. Vandenbroucke law is a new pension law approved by the government to encourage the introduction of company and industry-wide benefits for a greater number of employees.

The approach adopted by United States (US) approach is used to determine what form a system for dealing with the division of pension scheme benefits should take in the EU.

The retirement system in South Africa is supported by a strong statutory base. The various retirement acts implemented by the South African government, the benefits provided by those acts and the future developments initiated to improve the status of the retirement fund are discussed.
