Draft regulations on age discrimination delayed

Article Abstract:

Disagreements between the Department for Works and Pensions (DWP) and Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) delayed publication of a draft regulations as age legislation bill to be implemented strictly from 1 December 2006 at the latest. The dispute is about the retirement age to be made mandatory or flexible, amid protests by employers, employees and unions. More consultations are planned to resolve the contentious issue.
