Criticize, Censure, Condemn - They're all the Same

Article Abstract:

It is important for a manager or supervisor to know when to criticize and when it is not appropriate. Criticism when given should always be made in an objective, impersonal, calm manner. Managers should recognize that every individual is entitled to a few faults. Criticism is not an effective way to get people to listen or to perform better. No one likes to be criticized. Dr. Mortimer R. Feinberg in 'Effective Psychology for Managers' offers some guidelines on how to criticize an employee when necessary. Criticism should be done as soon as the facts are known, in private. Criticism should be specific and constructive. It is the responsibility of the supervisor to develop skills that will motivate an employee to correct the problem.

Everything's reassuringly the same

Article Abstract:

A visit to the city of Chicago, IL, provides the visitor with an idea of the progress of the US despite its cultural diversity and geographical size. Americans often find it hard to understand the difference between other continents of the world and America. Thus, Americans who are not aware of the eccentricities of the Europeans find it difficult to comprehend the slow pace of the movement towards the unification of European countries into something that is equivalent to the United States of America.

Keeper of the 'Bored'

Article Abstract:

A company bulletin board can be an excellent opportunity to communicate with employees. An office manager should take the time to keep a bulletin board uncluttered, attractive and up to date. The care of the bulletin board can be delegated to one employee at a time on a rotating basis. Upkeep of the bulletin board should include regular posting of important notices and removal of dated material. Colorful, attractive bulletin boards will catch the eye of employees and keep them reading.
