Creating a concession climate: the case of the serial downsizers
Article Abstract:
A study conducted among 322 Newzealand organizations (some of them undertook job cuts in 1995, some repeatedly downsized from 1995 - 99 and some retrenched workforce in 1999) revealed that the ones which repeatedly cut the jobs have suffered low organizational performace levels. The organizations which downsized only in the initial period have recovered by the end of the study period of 1999.
