Article Abstract:
Inferences drawn from a study on discrimination at workplace, conducted by Chartered Management Institute and Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, are discussed. The study highlights rampant age discrimination in United Kingdom organizations. The study also highlights the fact that employees do not have realistic expectations about their career in later stages of life. The reactions of employees to government's proposals relating to retirement age, and flexible working arrangements, are also discussed. Suggestions are also offered to overcome the identified problems.
