Article Abstract:
In the case Toyota Motor Manufacturing v. Ella Williams, at issue is the performance of manual tasks. The court noted that prior to the inability to perform manual tasks can be viewed as an inability to perform (or considerable limitation in the performance of) a major life activity within the definition of disability for purposes of the Americans with Disabilities Act, an individual is required to have an impairment that "prevents or severely restricts the individual from doing activities that are of central important to most people's daily lives" and the effect of said impairments have to be "permanent or long-term."

According to the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals in Eide v. Grey Fox Technical Services Corporation, 329 F.3d 600 (8th Cir. 2003) a retirement plan that does not require an ongoing administrative procedure cannot be termed as an Employee Retirement Income Security Act plan.
