A comparative study of organizational context factors for managerial career progress: focusing on Chinese state-owned, Sino-foreign joint venture and Japanese corporation

Article Abstract:

Managerial career progress as perceived by managers in China and Japan consists of (1) environmental quality for career progress, (2) performance and (3) in-house training opportunities. The results of a study on the above indicate that Japanese managers have a more favorable organizational context while working for Japanese corporations in Japan than China.

Learning in a competitive field: MBA students' improvised case studies of IHRM

Article Abstract:

A comparative analysis of usage of improvisation with case studies in international human resource management research is presented. Master of Business Administration students use the two methods for learning and preparing their own case studies. The concept of competitive field helps these students in designing management learning sessions.
