13th IACA Conference: Vancouver

Article Abstract:

The 13th biennial conference of the International Association of Consulting Actuaries was held in Vancouver, British Columbia. The main speaker discussed 'Competing in the Global Village: A Canadian Perspective.' Other major topics include the consulting actuary as a professional, pension plan taxation and regulation and demographic trends. Sessions on actuarial consulting outside pension and life assurance, methodology, pension plan design and financing and consulting firm management benefited the 139 participants of the four-day conference.
