Article Abstract:

Architect Stuart Silk was called by the new owners of a Seattle, WA, home to tailor a house, originally designed by him, to their needs. The owners Kerry Leimer and Dorothy Cross decorated the home with European classics, and asked Silk to convert two bedrooms into a gym and a media room.

A Manhattan Deco apartment renovated by famed architect Robert A.M. Stern in 1972 was converted to a loft by new architect James Biber. The apartment, with its view of Central Park, belongs to developer and restaurateur Jerome Kretchmer and his wife, Dorothy.

Hill country villa

Article Abstract:

A house in central Texas features artful frames, nooks and towers suggesting a Greek style. The rooms were furnished to give a rugged look. Native materials such as limestone were used. Concrete floors were poked to give the impression of rough edges.
