Retailers' commitments to the new machine-made stemwares have been slow. Some believe that it will be difficult to displace hand-made stemware. Through technological advances, makers have duplicated man-made, high-priced styling with machines, thus bringing the prices down to the $10-to-20 range. Manufacturers believe that they can offer the customer style at a moderate price.
