Disney springs into new mill pact

Disney Enterprises Inc. and Springs Industries Inc. of Fort Mill, SC, has forged a new agreement that will result in a wider product line for the textile company's bath and bedding products. The two companies, which has had a licensing deal for the past 20 years, agreed to produce a more complete product line of matching Disney character-inspired items. The enhanced product line will feature new rugs, towels, shower curtains and accessories under the Mickey Unlimited and Mickey & Co. brand names, in addition to Winnie the Pooh beddings for infants and pillows showing Winnie, Mickey and other characters.

Discovery center hosting 'non-event.'

Atlantic Group, the advertising and photography firm that caters to the needs of the furniture industry, will co-sponsor the fund-raising activity for the Furniture Discovery Center (FDC) in High Point, NC, on Oct. 16, 1998, in cooperation with Furniture Today. The non-event, dubbed as the "I'm far too busy during market to attend a fundraiser," is being undertaken to gather contributions for the museum of furniture manufacture and design. Potential contributors can visit the FDC for a free tour of the museum and have their picture taken with Tock, the North Carolina Furnishings Festival mascot.
