Article Abstract:
Boyd Furniture, a case goods manufacturer, has purchased a 1-million-sq-ft factory in Pomona, CA, around 45 miles away from its current 350,000-sq-ft plant in Los Angeles, CA. The company is slated to move into the new facility in October 1998 and attain full operation in December 1998. The acquisition of the new plant will facilitate lower delivery time and improve sales, said Greg Beckman, national sales manager of the company. Boyd should achieve production capacity topping $250 million annually, which is more than double the projections for its current plant.
