American Furniture Warehouse in Thornton, CO, is creating a Web page, called Pacific Creations, to ease importing process. The Web site will charge manufacturers and distributors $10,000 annual fee to list their products on the Web site, which in essence, creates an import buying group. The company will also offering the concept to retailers, which can access product photography, pricing, product dimensions, factory capacity, lead times, and up-to-date exchange rates, among other information. American Furniture President does not intend to profit from the venture, but aims to gain better prices and more products.
