2-Day builds Pooh line

2-Day Designs of Eastanollee, GA, has introduced a collection of children's decorative accessories and furnitures called the Classic Pooh line. The product line, which was unveiled at the High Point, NC, furniture market in April 1998, will be presented again at the Market Square in October 1998 with a new color option that is yet to be announced. 2-Day's Classic Pooh collection, composed of a bedroom suite that has a twin-sized bed, a nightstand and chest of drawers, also includes accessories such as a dome-top trunk, a table and chair set for children, stools and accent box and a wood toy box.

Orman Grubb aims to smooth product flow

Article Abstract:

Orman Grubb, a casual-contemporary oak specialist, is converting its traditional, cutting-based manufacturing to a system known as flowline manufacturing. Flowline manufacturing, which promises answers to questions, such as how much product to buy, how much to stock and when the goods will be delivered, requires retailers to maintain certain stock levels by placing frequent orders instead of large, infrequent ones. Orman Grubb President jeff Grubb stated that several retailers order based on misleading averages and misassumptions in a move to save on delivery expenses.

Stickley hosts 6th annual dealers meeting

Article Abstract:

L.& J.G. Stickley played host to furniture dealers across the US during the company's 6th annual dealer convention in June 1998. Retailers gathered at the Stickley home base in central New York to pick up more information about the company and its products, trade ideas and take part in leisure activities. The attendees were treated to a reception and dinner by Stickley owners Alfred and Aminy Audi and their children Edward and Carolyn. At the dealer meeting, several dealers awards were presented by the Audis.
