Root pruning is important in helping trees and large shrubs survive autumn transplanting, which is especially traumatic since injuries to roots can lead to the plant's death. Pruning as early as the winter before can make transplanting in fall easier. Tips on root pruning are given.

Garden grown old

Article Abstract:

Antiques dealer and museum exhibits designer Jim Morton took special pains to create an aged and slightly overgrown look for his garden. He gained inspiration from the book 'The Secret Garden' as well as the English, French and Italian gardens he saw during his travels.

Buffalo grass is a warm-season perennial grass that makes an ideal lawn covering. A hybrid, 609 buffalograss, has been bred to create a drought-tolerant, pest-resistant and low-growing variety. The newer variety can only be grown vegetatively.
