Occupied Japan collectibles

Article Abstract:

A description is presented of collectible items from Japan in the period 1945 to 1952, when the country was occupied by America. All items exported in this period were marked 'Made in Occupied Japan'. Figurines were a popular item for production yet are difficult to find for modern collectors.

The world's rarest cameos

Article Abstract:

Cameos are some of the rarest antique collections which began as early as the 17th century in northern Mediterranean. These carvings, which are often made of coral, shell, onyx, ivory and lava, are furnished by engraving the desired shape in an intaglio.

Victorian cameos

Article Abstract:

A review of Victorian cameos, small relief carvings on a contrasting background, is presented. Popular designs and motifs are described and illustrated and tips for collecting, identifying and dating cameos are given.
