Moving a house can save it but the costs involved in moving the house are very high. For moving a house a person should have a realistic budget and an estimate that will include the costs of dismantling, transporting and reassembling the house and the movers should have an insurance that will cover the damage done to people or property during the process.

A cottage in Concord

Article Abstract:

A detailed account of a project to convert a small backyard barn into a practical, manageable home for an elderly couple is presented. The barn was an open space, so the rooms could be laid out from scratch, much like in a new home, but doing up the exterior without losing the barn's basic character was a real challenge.

Razing ell

Article Abstract:

The demolition and rebuilding of 1849 Bradford Herald House in Carlisle, Massachusetts, by a general contractor Tom Silva and his crew, is discussed. In this renovation project, the house-to-barn connector of the building is replaced by a newly structured modern ell.
