Donna Neary, a perservation consultant, and her husband Ed rennovated the existing kitchen in their 1923 Louisville home with a galley kitchen configuration and added on a small breakfast room to accomodate an older hutch that was originally located in the kitchen. Donna's pointers for rennovating an older kitchen include researching the architectural style to preserve historic character, check with a local architectural review board or planning agency before beginning, and find builders and architects with historic structure experience.
