Many fireplace units do not require a chimney or venting. Placement can be made at unusual sites such as under a window, in the middle of a room, or on an interior wall. Today's gas hearth applicances have the realistic appearing fire and they can heat a room. Three different types are available: gas-log, fireplace insers and full fireplace units.
