Five string trimmers powered by gasoline engines are assessed, including models with curved shafts for cutting short grass and edging and straight shafts for cutting tall weeds and grass. They are the Tanaka TBC-4501, Homelite Easytrim, Toro 16" 4-cycle, McCulloch 3227HD and Makita RBC251.
