Article Abstract:
The new Cabin Collection of architect Bill Phillips consists of 16 small and compact cabins, in response to a growing demand for smaller residences. Ranging from 600 to 1,500 square feet, their designs were inspired by the vernacular buildings of the rural South as well as the more elaborate outbuildings of Colonial Williamsburg.

A band of decorative tiles can substantiate the decor of kitchens. A 1920s Craftsman-style dwelling's kitchen was given a fresh look with a tile band that coordinates with the countertop and the wall paint. Kitchen cabinets are crafted in a style reflective of the house design.
