Edward Eberle: in the realm of myth

Article Abstract:

Eberle's stoneware vases and porcelain containers are distinguished for their black-and-white figure illustrations. Mythical characters also pervade his work but their relationship to each other seems 'illogical' at times. The petite handles, which are totally impractical, are his comment on functional pottery.

Article Abstract:

Artisans say crafts must be hand made, must respect the material used and be identified by purpose and by the past. Some artists say anything can be art, such as Andy Warhol's serial photographs. The Modernist movement adheres to specific rules and will likely be outdated in the near future.
