Corn is king

Article Abstract:

Both white and yellow cornmeal can be bought commercially. Most cornmeal however has been degerminated and thus most of the flavor is gone. Stone ground or water ground corn meal can still be found in some rural areas. Two recipes are given, one for cornmeal mush, and one for corn pone.

Organic Gardening has been in publication for 50 years. Founded by J.I. Rodale, the magazine has been devoted to the healthful aspects of farming and gardening without chemicals. J.I. and his son, Robert, who succeeded him, are remembered fondly.
