Article Abstract:

Massachusetts Institute of Technology engineers have developed a method of consolidating pollutants in soil so that they are easier to remove. To date, there has been limited field application, but researchers are hopeful this will be able to reduce the cost of removing contaminants.

The way to water wisely

Article Abstract:

Drip irrigation systems are affordable, easy to use, and often the best way to water raised-bed gardens. Such systems can be based on soaker hose or on drip tubing with either in-line or punch-in emitters. Sources of drip-irrigation equipment are listed.
