The bellflower family, or Campanulaceae, incorporates about 85 lesser-known genera distributed through the temperate and tropical regions of the world, which together constitute more than 1,000 upright perennials, biennials, and so on. A discussion on a few Campanula species focuses on plants for a mixed perennial border as well as some that are best suited to a rockery.
