Directions for building a bedside table that complements a bed for which directions were given in a previous magazine are provided. The table is made from solid wood, uses solid wood slats joined with the tongue-and-groove method. The piece-by-piece directions make assembly and construction easier.

Heirloom chests that have become prized for storage evolved from custom-built boxes that held tools of European craftsmen. Birch plywood is used for the top and bottom in this design because it reduces wood movement stresses in the lid. Blueprints and materials lists are provided.
