Acid rain can damage an automobile's finish just as surely as can stones and bird droppings. The chemical pollution in the rain can bring about etching and cratering in the finish. The spots can be polished away by hand if caught early enough, and frequent washing is recommended.

Newer cars have their rear wheels mounted separately. This multi-link independent rear suspension improves the ride and is lighter, but it does add to the number of automotive inspections that must be conducted. Inspection and maintenance tips are presented.

Article Abstract:

Colder temperatures can decrease a car battery's efficiency, making maintenance of charging systems especially important in the winter. Maintenance of the alternator, regulator, belt, pulley, wire terminal and alternator vents is discussed.
