Article Abstract:

Aaron Shirley founded the Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center in Hinds County, MS, with a $1.2 million grant in 1969. The clinic, now staffed with 10 doctors and 142 medical support personnel, is funded by the government, private insurance and patient fees and serves about 45,000 patients a year.
