Article Abstract:

Gardeners can start sprouting seeds in February by placing them in one or two inches of vermiculite or potting soil. The recommended seed-starting containers include wooden flats, newspaper pots and plastic trays called ten-row seed flats. Vegetable-seed recommendations are presented.

A place to germinate

Article Abstract:

Starting seeds requires good containers for germination to take place. Almost any container with good drainage and room for the roots to grow will work. Containers can be purchased flats, peat pots, recycled milk cartons and takeout containers or pots made from newspaper or soil.
