A lesson in bathroom lighting

Article Abstract:

The bathrooms are probably given the least consideration of all the rooms in the house when it comes to interior lighting as it is increasingly becoming a place to relax and recharge, complete with steam shower and spa tub. A good lighting plan has a variety of layers as in task lighting, ambient lighting and accent lighting and there are other considerations as well, in which it is possible to choose bulbs.

A couple of homeowners wanted a master bath area they could share that also afforded them their own privacy, and hence their architect used their relationship and their lifestyle as the basis for the design. A two-sided vanity positioned roughly in the middle of the room, framed by a storage cabinet and a shower, divides the bath into his-and-hers privacy areas.
