A bad sub can harm a good reputation

Article Abstract:

A custom carpenter with a work backlog found that a friend's recommendation of a floor-finishing subcontractor, plus the subcontractor's color ad in the Yellow pages and clean Better Business Bureau record, were inadequate insurance against unreliability. Only the carpenter's scrupulous follow-up, plus keeping his client fully informed, saved the carpenter's reputation. The unprofessional floor finisher was fired after several unexcused absences and now has a bad Better Business Bureau record.
