Article Abstract:

Wein Products has developed batteries used in photography which use zinc oxide instead of manganese dioxide. The zinc-air cells are substitutes for 625 mercury cells. Another mercury substitute called the 4145 Replacement Battery Kit is being sold by Bogen Photo of Ramsey, NJ.

Photographers using older cameras may have a hard time finding the batteries for their equipment. Although batteries such as the Eveready No. 497 and the Eveready No. 505 are surprisingly still in the market, models such as the Minox EL PX27 are already out of production.

Testing a lithium-battery tester. How good are Kodak's new Photolife AAs?

Article Abstract:

The Kodak Photolife AA camera battery performed well in tests when compared with Duracell and Energizer batteries. The Kodak battery has the shortest recycle time flashes when the three batteries were tested. The $59 ZTS Lithium Battery Tester is a good investment.
