Weather factors determine the flight performance of aircraft and radio-controlled model airplanes. The most important is the wind, its velocity, angle of deflection and how it will affect the expected flight or landing course. Other factors to consider are heat, humidity and temperature.

Model airplane maneuvers should be done at safe altitude to avoid damaging the model and injuring spectators. High-performance models are capable of several hotshot maneuvers including the low inverted pass, rolling circle, slow roll, flat turn, M-wadd and the whoosh-by.
