Bosnia-Herzegovina declared its independence from Yugoslavia and will once again issue its own postage stamps. The region has been annexed to other countries periodically since the 10th century, and has issued stamps during periods of independence.

Inventors Otto Lilienthal and Albert Santos-Dumont contributed much to the successful flight of airplanes near the turn of the 20th century. Several countries have issued postage stamps in honor of the two inventors.
