Stern drives '96

Article Abstract:

New stern drives for 1996 include an upgraded DuoProp from Volvo Penta with a standard transom cutout and an enlarged skeg. Ten DuoProp models are now available. MerCruiser is offering Alpha One, Bravo One, Bravo Two and Bravo Three models mated to engines rated from 135 to 415 hp.

Article Abstract:

The 1994 OMC Cobra stern drives for boats are built with some Volvo parts, including gears, clutch and shafts. The shifting is very smooth and the water pump is conveniently located. The Cobra also has a sophisticated electronic engine management system.

Marine EFI engines are becoming more popular because they meet the EPA emission mandates and are user-friendly. MerCruiser's 350 Magnum has multiport injection and generates 275 hp.
