A model such as the Swift has the least air resistance, and any model should be matched with an engine according to a proper 'weight-to-power ratio.' Two stroke engines with a 200-ounce per cid power loading are often best. Reinforced plastic propellers are the most efficient.

Prevent control-surface flutter

Article Abstract:

Model airplane flutter can be prevented through mass-balancing the elevators, ailerons and rudder. Control-surface mass-balancing can be implemented by using a lead weighing 2% of the gross weight of the aircraft. The approach is a cheaper alternative to flutter prevention.
